After Hours — A Free Sapphic Age-Gap Office Romance Scene by Aurora North (2026)

A free sapphic one today. This scene’s from Aurora North — FF, an age gap, and the particular heat of a composed older woman and the younger one who’s decided she’s done being intimidated. If the voice lands, the full catalog is free with Kindle Unlimited, and every book page has a first chapter waiting.
Heads up: explicit scene, readers 18 and over. Two consenting adults (26 and 42), an age-gap and praise dynamic, enthusiastic yes-means-yes throughout. If that’s not your speed today, our reading guides are a gentler stop.
After Hours
It was nine at night and Ruby was the only person left on the floor except for the one who mattered, which was, of course, the entire reason she was still there.
Elena Vasquez kept her office lit low after hours — one lamp, the city doing the rest through the glass — and she was standing at the window with a glass of red and her heels off when Ruby knocked on the open door with the finished proposal she absolutely could have sent by email.
“You didn’t have to bring that in person,” Elena said, without turning around. Forty-two, composed as a closed ledger, the kind of woman who ran a room by lowering her voice instead of raising it.
“I know.” Ruby set it on the desk and didn’t leave. “I wanted to.”
Now Elena turned, and the look she gave Ruby was the one that had been undoing her composure by degrees for four months — assessing, unhurried, faintly amused. “You’ve wanted to a lot lately. Stay late. Bring things by. Sit a little too close in the Tuesday meetings.” She took a slow sip. “I notice things, Ruby. It’s my job.”
Ruby’s heart was going hard, but she’d rehearsed this in the elevator and she wasn’t backing out now. “Then you’ve noticed it isn’t about the proposals.”
“I have.” Elena set her glass down on the sill, deliberate, and crossed the room until there was very little air left between them — close enough that Ruby had to tip her chin up, twenty-six and suddenly unsure what to do with her hands. “I’ve also noticed I’m twice your age and sign off on your reviews, which are two very good reasons for me to tell you to go home.”
“Are you going to?”
Elena studied her for a long, deliberate moment. Then she reached up and tucked a loose strand of hair behind Ruby’s ear, and let her fingers trail along her jaw, and Ruby’s breath left her in a rush.
“No,” Elena said quietly. “But I’m going to make you say what you want, in words, because I don’t guess and I don’t assume. So tell me.”
“I want you.” It came out steadier than Ruby expected. “I’ve wanted you since the first week. I want you to stop being careful about it.”
“There it is.” And Elena smiled — slow, pleased, the composed thing cracking into something warmer and far more dangerous — and closed the last of the distance.
She kissed like she did everything: without hurry, with total control, one hand cradling the back of Ruby’s neck and the other settling at her waist to draw her in. Ruby made a small, embarrassing sound against her mouth and felt Elena’s smile widen at it, and then the kiss deepened and there was nothing composed about either of them. Elena walked her backward until Ruby’s spine met the edge of the desk, and kept her there, and took her time.
“Look at you,” Elena murmured against her throat, her voice dropped low. “All that nerve it took to walk in here, and now you can barely stand up.”
“That’s — entirely your fault,” Ruby managed.
“I’ll take it.” Elena drew back just far enough to hold her eyes, one hand splayed warm against the small of her back. “We go at your pace. You tell me if anything is too much and we stop, no matter where we are. Yes?”
“Yes.” The permission landed somewhere deep, steadied her even as it undid her. “Yes. I’ve got it.”
“Good girl.” The words did something visible to Ruby — a shiver, a soft catch of breath — and Elena watched it happen with open, unhurried satisfaction. “Oh, you like that. Noted.” She kissed the corner of Ruby’s jaw, then lower. “You’ve been so patient, waiting me out. Let me take my time with you now.”
And she did — slow and certain, checking in with a low okay? at every new thing and waiting for Ruby’s breathless yes before she gave her more, every yes rewarded with a quiet that’s it or good that Ruby felt to her fingertips. For all the courage it had taken to walk in, the truth was that being handled with this much attention — being told, steadily, exactly how well she was doing — unmade her more thoroughly than she’d ever admit in daylight.

After, Ruby was tucked against Elena’s side on the low couch by the window, boneless and grinning at the ceiling while Elena traced idle shapes along her arm like she had nowhere else in the world to be.
“Four months,” Ruby said, when she could talk again. “We could’ve been doing that for four months.”
“We could not have.” Elena’s voice was dry but her arm tightened. “I don’t move on wanting until I’m sure it’s wanted back. You made that very clear tonight.” A pause, softer. “I’m glad you did.”
Ruby propped up on an elbow to look at her — the composed, unshakeable woman who ran the whole floor, looking back at her now like something worth being careful with. “This wasn’t a one-time thing,” she said. “I want that on the record.”
“It’s on the record.” Elena drew her back down, unhurried, certain. “We’ll sort out the complicated parts in daylight. Tonight you can just stay.”
The proposal sat forgotten on the desk, and the city kept the lights on for them, and neither of them moved for a long time.
