His lodge is built for weddings. His heart is built for emergencies. Neither is prepared for the wedding planner who turns both upside down.
Rory Bell can save any wedding — except possibly this one. A missing business partner, a blizzard, and a bride with four million followers are bad enough. Then his cabin floods, forcing him to share a room with Knotty Pines Lodge owner Leo Mercer: a gruff former firefighter with scarred hands, a rescue dog with no boundaries, and strong opinions about everything Rory is doing wrong.
Leo Mercer has survived burning buildings, a career-ending injury, and one spectacularly failed marriage. He will not be undone by a perfectly dressed wedding planner with anxious eyes and a talent for making disaster look beautiful.
But when someone begins sabotaging the celebration — and a viral video makes the internet ship them as enemies-to-lovers — the only way to protect Rory’s career is a fake engagement that feels dangerously real.
One shared room. One elaborate lie. One blizzard that refuses to end. Falling for each other was never part of the plan.

Chapter One: Rory
The GPS told me I’d arrived at my destination, which was generous of it, because my destination appeared to be a wall of white nothing.
I leaned forward against the steering wheel of my rental and stared through the windshield at what I could generously describe as weather. Snow wasn’t falling so much as being hurled sideways by a wind that seemed personally offended by my existence.
My phone buzzed. Again.
I glanced at the screen wedged in the cupholder. Seventeen unread messages. Four from Sloane Whitaker, bride, lifestyle content creator, woman with four million followers who expected a winter wonderland wedding and was about to get a winter apocalypse instead.
Zero from Dani. That was consistent, at least.
I pulled the car forward another hundred feet and the trees opened up, and there it was.
Knotty Pines Lodge.
