He was sent to kill her. He gave her a head start instead.
Elara Vance has spent two years being invisible — first in a house with a man who used her body as a statement of ownership, then as a hotel housekeeper who learned to disappear into wallpaper. When she witnesses something she shouldn’t, the organization that owns the hotel sends its most lethal asset to tie up the loose end.
He gives her a five-minute head start. She doesn’t know why. Neither does he.
Silas Cross — codename Ghost — has killed forty-seven people in twelve years. He is efficient, hollow, and operates on a code that has no room for mercy. But when he corners his target in a thunderstorm and she doesn’t beg, doesn’t plead, just looks at him with brown eyes that aren’t afraid of dying — something in the code breaks. Something that was supposed to stay broken.
Wounded and hunted, they take shelter in his remote Appalachian cabin. The organization wants them both dead. A Kill Squad is closing in. The only way out is through each other — and the explosive, devastating connection neither of them was built to survive.
She teaches him that mercy isn’t weakness. He teaches her that invisibility isn’t safety. Together, in a cabin in the dark with a storm outside and a war coming, they discover that two broken people can build something worth defending — if they’re willing to burn down everything they used to be.
THE HOLLOW HUNT is a dark romance thriller featuring a retired assassin, a woman who refuses to be invisible, forced proximity in a remote cabin, a Kill Squad with orders to eliminate, and a love story forged in fire and built from wreckage. It contains explicit content, violence, references to domestic abuse, and a happily-ever-after that is earned through devastation.
The hollow man wasn’t empty. He was waiting. And the woman who filled him wasn’t fragile. She was a force of nature wearing a housekeeping uniform.

The thing about being invisible is that you see everything.
Room 1408 has been dead for three hours. The Do Not Disturb sign went up at two in the afternoon — a small rectangle of cardstock hanging from a brushed-nickel handle, swaying slightly in the conditioned air, the most polite lie in the hospitality industry. Do not disturb. As if the person inside simply preferred solitude. As if the reason for the sign was a nap, a headache, a desire for uninterrupted room service.
The person inside Room 1408 is not napping.
I know this because I’ve been watching the hallway cameras for three years, and I know what a room looks like when it goes quiet in a way that means something. The ice bucket was requested at noon. The extra towels at twelve-thirty. Then: nothing. No calls to the front desk. No service tray placed outside the door. No movement past the peephole sensor that triggers the barely visible light in the security alcove where the monitors live and I sometimes eat my lunch because the break room smells like microwaved fish and regret.
The hallway is empty. Fourteenth floor, west wing, the kind of hotel corridor that exists in a perpetual state of tasteful anonymity — cream walls, burgundy carpet, brass sconces casting the particular shade of warm light that luxury hotels use to suggest that everything is fine and nothing has ever happened here that couldn’t be resolved with a complimentary bottle of champagne…
