Sarina Bowen Books in Order: Brooklyn Hockey, Hockey Guys, True North & More (2026)
Sarina Bowen books in order is one of the longest lists in hockey romance, and 2026 made it longer: My Kind of Guy closed out a fourth Hockey Guys MM book in March, Big Stick Energy landed in June as the second New York Legends novel from Forever, and a third, Hate the Player, is already dated for April 2027. Add the Brooklyn Bruisers, True North, the Ivy Years, two MM series co-written with Elle Kennedy and a sideline in thrillers, and you need a map. Below is every Sarina Bowen series in reading order with a spoiler-free hook for each book, where to start depending on what you want, the full publication list, what’s next and hotter picks for when you’ve read them all.

Sarina Bowen Books in Order: Where to Start
If you came here from Heated Rivalry, start with Him, the MM hockey novel she wrote with Elle Kennedy. It’s the one that put the straight-best-friend-at-hockey-camp story on the map, and it’s still her most recommended book. If you want the big MF hockey world, start with Rookie Move, the first Brooklyn Bruisers book, or jump straight to Brooklynaire, the fan favorite. If you want her newest on the shelf at every bookstore, Thrown for a Loop opens the New York Legends.
Every Bowen book is a standalone romance with its own couple and its own ending. The series share a world and a supporting cast, so reading in order pays off, but nothing is lost if you skip around. If you already follow her co-author, our Elle Kennedy books in order guide covers the Briar side of the same universe.
Brooklyn Bruisers and Brooklyn Hockey in Order
The Brooklyn Bruisers are a fictional NHL team, and this is Bowen’s biggest world. The first three books are listed as Brooklyn Bruisers and the rest as Brooklyn Hockey. Read them as one series.
- Rookie Move (2016): Leo Trevi gets called up to Brooklyn and finds his high school sweetheart, Georgia, running the team’s publicity. Second chance, forced proximity, and the series’ first look at the Bruisers’ front office.
- Hard Hitter (2017): Patrick O’Doul, the team enforcer, and the massage therapist treating his hip. The one with the most bruises, literal and otherwise.
- Pipe Dreams (2017): goalie Mike Beacon and Lauren Williams, the ex who walks back into his life in the middle of a playoff run.
- Brooklynaire (2018): the team’s billionaire owner and Rebecca, the office manager who has run his life for years. The book most readers name as their favorite.
- Overnight Sensation (2019): Heidi, the league commissioner’s daughter, takes an entry-level job with the Bruisers and collides with a player she should not be anywhere near. Do Over (2020) is a free short-story epilogue.
- Superfan (2019): two people who lost each other three years ago get a second shot. Quieter and sadder than the rest of the run.
- Moonlighter (2019): a Bruiser is recruited into his brother’s security firm for one job and ends up guarding Alex, a woman he’s known since childhood. Technically The Company book one, but it reads as Brooklyn book seven. Loverboy (2020) is The Company book two.
- Sure Shot (2020): sports agent Bess Beringer and Mark “Tank” Tankiewicz, a veteran just traded to Brooklyn. Lucky Shot (2020) is the free prequel short about how they met.
- Bombshells (2021): Anton Bayer and Sylvie, a player on Brooklyn’s new women’s team, the Bombshells.
- Shenanigans (2022): a Bombshells player wakes up in Vegas married to Neil Drake, Brooklyn’s star winger. Must Love Hockey (2022) is a novella about equipment manager James “Jimbo” Carozza and a fan who has an allergic reaction at a game.
- Love Lessons (2022): a player who needs an image makeover and the stylist next door who gives him one.
Heat across Brooklyn is open door and generous, around 3 to 4 chilis, with the sex scenes on the page and the banter doing a lot of the seduction.
Hockey Guys in Order (MM)
Hockey Guys is Bowen’s solo MM series, a spin-off from the Brooklyn world, with each book a standalone couple.
- The New Guy (2023): Gavin Gillis, a widowed single dad and the Bruisers’ new assistant athletic trainer, has a one-night hookup with a stranger who turns out to live on his floor and, the next morning, to be Hudson Newgate, the closeted bisexual player he’s been hired to work with. Low angst, friendship first.
- I’m Your Guy (2023): Tommaso, a closeted Colorado Cougars player with an empty new house, hires Carter, an interior designer whose ex ran up his credit cards, to fill it. Grumpy/sunshine with a slow burn.
- The Last Guy on Earth (2025): Jethro Hale, the most decorated goalie in the league, is traded to Colorado, where Coach Clay Powers, the youngest coach in the majors and Jethro’s lover fifteen years ago, does not want him. Coach and player, a teen nephew to raise, and the gentlest heat in the series.
- My Kind of Guy (March 24, 2026): Beck James, a former top draft pick now a backup goalie in the minors, spends his nights on a stool at Sportsballs, a queer bar in Denver. When bartender Seth “Forest” Forrester’s beer-league team loses its goalie, Beck offers to play if Forest will give him one night. Forest says no to the hookup and yes to the goalie, and it goes from there.
Our books like Him list is the natural next stop once you’ve finished these.
Him, Us and Epic in Order (with Elle Kennedy)
- Him (2015): Ryan Wesley and Jamie Canning roomed together at a Lake Placid hockey camp for six summers, until a shootout bet on the last night ended in a sexual favor and Wes cut Jamie off without a word. Nearly four years later their college teams meet at the Frozen Four in Boston, and the summer that follows, back at the same camp, is the romance.
- Us (2016): Wes’s pro career is taking off, and keeping the relationship out of the public eye starts costing them.
- Epic (2020): a novella catching up with Wes and Jamie settled in Toronto, until a career opportunity tests the balance.
Him and Us are explicit MM, around 4 chilis, and still the gateway most readers use into the genre. Our books like Heated Rivalry guide sits next door.
WAGs in Order (with Elle Kennedy)
- Good Boy (2017): Jess Canning, Jamie’s sister, is put in charge of her brother’s wedding and has to work with the best man she hooked up with once the spring before. MF, set in the Him world.
- Stay (2017): Hailey Emery runs a virtual-assistant service and suspects her favorite anonymous client is hockey star Matt Eriksson, the man she’s had a crush on for years.
Bowen and Kennedy also wrote Top Secret (2019), a standalone, and Bowen co-wrote Temporary (2017) with Sarah Mayberry.
True North in Order
True North is Bowen’s Vermont series: a farming family, a small town and a cast that keeps growing. It later spun out the multi-author Vino & Veritas books, named for the gastropub at the center of the True North world.
- Bittersweet (2016)
- Steadfast (2016)
- Keepsake (2016)
- Bountiful (2017): Zara and the tourist from a one-time fling that left her with a child. This one crosses over with the Brooklyn Bruisers.
- Speakeasy (2018)
- Fireworks (2018)
- Heartland (2020). Prom Night (2020) is a short epilogue story.
- Waylaid (2021)
- Roommate (2021): Roderick Waites, an out, talkative culinary-school graduate back from Nashville, and Kieran Shipley, a quiet farm kid who isn’t out to his family, end up sharing a place in Colebury, Vermont. MM, and the book that opens the door to Vino & Veritas.
Boyfriend (2021) is Bowen’s entry in the shared Moo U Hockey series.
The Ivy Years in Order
Her first series, a college romance run that started everything.
- The Year We Fell Down (2014)
- The Year We Hid Away (2014). Blonde Date (2014) is a novella.
- The Understatement of the Year (2014)
- The Shameless Hour (2015)
- The Fifteenth Minute (2015). Studly Period (2018) and Extra Credit (2019) are later novellas.
Gravity, Man Hands and the Shared Series
- Gravity: Coming in from the Cold (2014), Falling from the Sky (2015), Shooting for the Stars (2015).
- Hello Goodbye: Goodbye Paradise (2015), Hello Forever (2015).
- Man Hands, with Tanya Eby: Man Hands (2017), Man Card (2018), Boy Toy (2018), Man Cuffed (2019). Her rom-com side.
- Hush Note, with Devney Perry and Rebecca Yarros: Bowen’s book is Lies & Lullabies (2020).
- The Best Men, with Lauren Blakely: Super Hot Wingman (2021), The Best Men (2022).
- Madigan Mountain, with Rebecca Yarros and Devney Perry: Bowen’s book is A Little Too Late (2022).
New York Legends in Order
Her traditionally published hockey series from Forever, a new team and a new cast, written as MF rom-coms with real heat.
- Thrown for a Loop (November 4, 2025): Zoe Carson, a former figure-skating star, takes a job as the Legends’ skating coach, and the player struggling most on the ice is Chase Merritt, the man who broke her heart ten years ago. Then an old video of their pairs routine goes viral.
- Big Stick Energy (June 30, 2026): Darcy Kendrick, the team’s overworked admin, accidentally sends her private fantasy about captain Eric Tremaine to Eric Tremaine. A wedding invitation and his proposal to fake-date through it, which he calls the Wedding Experience, do the rest.
- Hate the Player (April 20, 2027): Tony DeLuca hides out from a brutal season in his family’s Brooklyn hardware store and falls for Jasmine Delaney, a guarded single mom who avoids charming men and professional athletes, without telling her he’s one of them.
Sarina Bowen’s Thrillers and Standalones
- The Accidentals (2018), a standalone.
- The Five Year Lie (2024), a standalone.
- Dying to Meet You (May 13, 2025): Rowan Gallagher, an architect and single mother restoring a historic mansion in Portland, Maine, tracks her ex’s phone after he dumps her, finds him dead in his car and becomes the prime suspect. Domestic thriller, not romance.
- Bad Girls Make Good Liars (2027), a standalone announced for next year.
