Her best friend is about to become famous. The problem is, she keeps making her take her clothes off.
Bridget Lane has spent ten years making Emmy Price look unforgettable.
She’s dressed Emmy for disastrous first dates, bad auditions, dead-end jobs, and every tiny comedy set that eventually led to a breakout streaming special. She’s also spent ten years pretending the reason she knows exactly how to unzip Emmy’s dresses is professional.
Now Emmy’s special is about to make her famous, and the network wants a new image: sharper clothes, sexier confidence, and a flirtatious behind-the-scenes campaign built around the chemistry between Emmy and the best friend who styles her.
It’s a joke. A bit. Content.
Until Emmy kisses Bridget backstage to sell it.
Suddenly the tour bus is too small, the hotel rooms have too few beds, and every time Bridget helps Emmy out of another dress, Emmy wants to know why they ever stopped at just friendship.
But Bridget refuses to become Emmy’s experiment — or the secret inspiration for jokes Emmy won’t admit are true.
And Emmy has to decide whether she wants the career she’s always dreamed of… or the woman who’s been beside her before anyone was watching.

Chapter 1
The vest was almost right.
I’d been staring at it for twenty minutes, steamer in one hand, seam ripper in the other, trying to decide whether the problem was the dart or my sanity. It was 6:47 a.m. I’d been up since four. The shoot didn’t start until ten.
This was normal. This was my process. I altered things at ungodly hours because fabric cooperated when the rest of my life wouldn’t, and because Emmy’s torso had a way of defying standard sizing that I’d stopped questioning around year three of our friendship.
